Essential Oils Dishwasher Tabs
Who loves washing dishes? Let me tell you, NOT this girl! If I could I would use everything paper or plastic and throw everything away at the end of the day. With 7 kiddos you can only imagine the amount of cups, spoons, forks, plates we go through in a day. So when my wonderful husband offered to wash the dishes after dinner each night I couldn’t turn him down.
With the kitchen being my first room to ditch and switch the toxic products I knew the dishwasher detergent was one of the first things to go. The thought of possible toxins being left on the dishes we eat off of just grossed me out. Now Young Living has an amazing dishwasher detergent (Thieves Automatic Dishwasher Powder) that is ready to scoop and use, but we are a family that loves some DIY’s. Okay so maybe not everyone in the family loves DIY’s but me and my girls do!

I’m sure most of you are thinking that cleaners without chemicals just can’t possibly get things clean. My dishes come out sparkling clean every time! I have tried a few different recipes and fell in love with the one we are using now. And the best part is the main ingredients are found right in your local grocery store! Can I get an AMEN! I like to get mine on Amazon because I like to buy in bulk.

Ingredients
- 1 ¼ Cups Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda
- 3 Tablespoons Salt
- 40 drops Citrus Fresh essential oil (or any citrus oils you like)
- 1 capful Thieves Household Cleaner
- A little less than ½ cup water
- Silicon mold

Directions
Combine all ingredients into a glass bowl. To measure out the ½ cup of water, I like to add the capful of THC (Thieves household cleaner) to my measuring cup and then fill the rest with water. Mix well with a stainless steel spoon. Add the mixture to the silicone mold and press down. Let dry for 24-48 hrs. Once dry remove from silicone mold and put into an airtight container. Keep out of direct sunlight.

What to step it up a notch. Add one tablet to your dishwasher dispenser and add some vinegar to the rinsing agent in your washing machine. This will help in the final rinse cycle. Keeping any kind of residue from building up on your glasses. You should only have to fill this about once a week. For us this is import as we have really hard water!
